The Falk Foundation offers a wide range of services to help provide doctors, pharmacists, non-medical practitioners, students and patients with comprehensive, up-to-date information about special diseases and the therapies available to treat them.
Since being established, the Falk Foundation has organized well over 270 international symposia and workshops, which saw experts from all over the world report on the current state of knowledge in pure and clinical research. More than 130,000 doctors from 110 countries have attended these international symposia and workshops so far. These events serve not only to provide doctors with better further education opportunities in various gastroenterological and hepatological diseases, but also form an important platform for international scientific exchange.
In addition, the Falk Foundation organizes numerous nationwide congresses as well as around 600 postgraduate training events a year for doctors and doctor-patient seminars in Germany. So far, a total of more than 16,000 regional events have been held, attended by over 1.3 million people. The Falk seminars and Falk Gastro Forums are the flagship of these postgraduate training events for doctors in Germany.
Numerous diagnosis and therapy brochures are published by the Falk Foundation for specialist circles. These describe the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract with the aid of graphics and comprehensive illustrations. In addition, the Falk scientific wall charts inform doctors and medical students about the pathophysiology, clinical picture and therapy of numerous liver and intestinal diseases. The charts are widely used for teaching purposes at universities.
The Falk Gastro Review journal (FGR) is also worthy of mention. The FGR journal is published quarterly in English as well as in German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Chinese and Turkish, and provides information about current results in clinic and research. This journal contains about 70 reported publications selected from international medical magazines. Hints on Falk symposia and workshops, organized by the Falk Foundation further international congresses, new books, and congress and seminar reports are also included.
The Falk Foundation also supports research by offering a variety of scientific prizes for outstanding research activities in gastroenterology and hepatology. This program allows the Falk Foundation to support particularly committed scientists, especially young scientists (Awards for Scientists).
